General, personality:

Savinion is lawyer by profession, not rarely successfuly pleading for defendants who seemed obviously guilty of serious offences. Many doubt the honesty of his methods, and rightly so - on the side Savinion works as an assassin manager and a link between the professionals and their customers.

An usually calm and collected man, and not openly rude, he will not miss an opportunity to let others now the disdain he holds them in, and throw in a few malicious comments on their low social status and poor intelligence. To him, people are tools, and relationships are business agreements.

He is a bit paranoid, checking several times if he has closed the door, but also protecting his last will document with a complicated system of hints and notes only he will get, keeping weapons hidden in his canes and having his bodyguards (which sometimes means Blady) taste his food.
Can't say he is wrong here - some displeased citizens have been trying to get rid of him already, but Sav seems to be staying alive just to spite them.

Likes:
blackmail <3, wine, music, theatre, leaving hints and notes for himself, talking in a confusing lawyer-like way

Dislikes:
snails, cheese, children, "you left an iron on" joke, women who think they are smart, most people

Looks:

- 174cm tall, hunching and limping a bit, supporting himself with his cane
- pale
- greyish blonde hair he wears in a ponytail
- small grey eyes
- redish nose and eyelids, possibly due to allergy but it remains a mystery as to what he might be allergic to
- bulky, downturn nose
- pointy chin
- tiny moustache and goatee

Fight:

Rumours have it that in his youth Savinion was good in fencing, and even trained some of the hitmen himself. Nowadays his health has much deteriorated due to age but also a past accident. Still, he always keeps a small weapon with him, usually retractible from his cane, and takes bodyguards to business meetings to ensure his safety.

Family:

He lives alone in his apartment. However, some say he does actually have a family of his own, but keeps them very much at distance from his work and mostly from himself, probably holding some unclear interest in having a family at all.
A known family member is his niece Amarille, an opera diva, who seems to somehow be involved in his criminal operations on the side.

Relationships:

Savinion is oftent seen cooperating with people he personaly despises, like the gangster Cega Midav. Savinion dislikes him for what he sees as crudeness and lack of intellect. Even more, he hates Cega's right hand Rima Kantori, for exact the opposite: being too intelligent to play along with Sav, and because she is a woman butting in men's business.

Corber was the one to introduce one of his hitmen, Blady, to the business and probably partly influenced his nonchalant style. Their relations vary from friendly to almost hostile. One of their points of disagreement is their attitude to people, with Blady being the people person (often more of a dead people person but still), and Savinion viewing people mostly as tools. Anyway, they share enthusiasm for theatre and music, something not easily found in other people they work with. That is probably the reason why Sav indeed seems to favour Blady over other hitmen... or maybe because he finds manipulating him especially entertaining.

Other:

- malicious call him "Pink Herring" instead of "Red Herring", partly because of his skin colour

As a character:

- created in 2011
- side comic: Cut it close (Killer stories): demonade-comic.deviantart.com/…
- a character used mostly in roleplay: demonade-comic.deviantart.com/…
- he was actually nicknamed Herring not because of the Red Herring phrase, but because his eyebrows' shape is a bit fish-like
